Yeah this lady is frightening. Honestly though, I met a lot of Alaskans who were pro-drilling and pro-areal hunting of wolves, etc. Maybe it was the town I spent most of my time here, but it seemed like there were a ton of dumb conservative types who in one breath talked themselves up for living on the "last frontier" while simultaneously giving kudos to big businesses who were all about destroying that frontier and rendering it into a total wasteland. I still don't understand where this cognitive dissidence makes sense in anyone's mind. "We are proud to be Alaskan and we love our wildlife, but we want big business to take over and destroy it." I felt pretty fed up with this attitude by the time I left. I am not saying this is the majority of Alaskans, but it's definitely a strong constituency.

On a better note, Alaskans seemed pretty non-racist. I met a lot of Mexican workers who felt that Alaskans were less racist than anywhere else they worked or lived. That's positive. The biggest irony of this is that people are claiming her husband is Native Alaskan (he's like not even 1/4th) and are using this fake minority status to claim that she would be bringing diversity into the Whitehouse. They are also claiming that she wants to keep polar bears off of protective lists so that Native Alaskans can continue to hunt them. Lol. As if Sarah Palin wears a bearfur jacket to her speeches. It's bullshit. She wants drilling and doesn't care if the bears go. So much crazy spinning going on in this election, huh?

Go Obama!

Yes. Why the hell not? If it takes some extra action, maybe even only a little extra attention, sometimes it only takes one small thing, to make a day amazing, then why the hell not? Thank you Nikki.

wow, lady, what a task. and good, deep questions, here, too:
" What is the shelf life?"
"What about the words to no one?"

what a journey.

they shut down my route for the night and so, it was wait and take the 6am bus instead of the 12:10am, or call it a day. that place was a mess. i should have known with the holiday weekend and everything but I really didn't expect that catastrophe. - nikki
