Tuesday, June 17th, 2008I realize I’ve been reasonably quiet on here, in terms of “life stuff.” It isn’t for lack of things happening—quite the opposite, actually. Sometimes there are so many things going on, that it’s hard to #1: find the time to sit down and comment on them and #2: find the words to wrap around the happenings themselves.
In terms of amazing things, this past weekend was just ridiculous. Off the scale. I went to bed on Sunday night thinking to myself: damn. What a life. Hopefully I will find a moment in the near future to properly comment on it. Things happened, things were witnessed, that will stay with me for good. I love being smack dab in the middle of an instant, recognizing the impact and staying power. I met some amazing people, listened to stories I will never forget. And oh how nice to get out of the city for a little while.
I’m playing in a soccer league now with my good friends Katie and Rob. Mucho gracias to them for the invite to do so. The game is in my blood. We play on Sundays. Yesterday, I had an amusing moment with the body, getting it out of bed, aching in places I had previously forgotten about.
New ink is healing well.
On deck: guitar lessons. Some job prospects that I will refrain from truly mentioning here, as things are still developing. A good friend from back home will be in town tomorrow and I’m quite excited about that. I’m now a staff contributor for The New Yinzer—currently working on my first assignment/column. I will be featuring among other writers at the New Yinzer event on August 20th. I’ll pass along more info as the time draws near.
The hammock on our front porch has been quite a godsend, and a great source of giggling when more than one person attempts to get on it. Talk about delicate balance.
The latest on my niece, Maddie:

Oh, and: Vegan Cookie Dough Ice Cream. That’s all I really need to say.
I’ll do my best to provide more proper details and musings soon, but for now, those are things.
