she turns two(tu)

After a great morning spinning class with my dad and sister, it was back to the house for last minute preparations. Today, we had a birthday party for the little lady turning two.

The keeping of a promise: commencing a tradition of readable gifts (3 classic Goldenbooks that I remember from my own childhood).

Full house, and then full bellies. All five cousins together, in the same room, for the first time in six years. We hugged and compared notes on tattoos(we’re all pretty inked so far–my uncle encouraged me to go for the sleeve). People made fun of my tofu and veggie dogs(I’m still amused at what a “weirdo” I become around these parts, compared to life in Pittsburgh, where being a vegetarian and consuming soy is fairly “of the norm”). Kyle, Ralph, and I sat at the kids table and pretty much made fun of everything.

and cousin Scott and I, reunited after 6+ years:I’m tired and stuffed. What a very very good day.
